Brooks “Pete” Gentzel, age 80 of St. Louis, Missouri went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2025.
He was born on September 4, 1945 in Lewistown PA . The son of Brooks and Mabel Gentzel. Pete graduated from The Kiski School in Saltsburg, PA and went on to Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA to receive his bachelor's degree in Economics in 1968. He married Patricia Grady in 1969.
Pete pursued a career in sales, owned a retail candy business in the Washington DC area, and went on to open his own construction company. Pete's business was successful for over 40 years in the St Louis area. And still continues today under new ownership.
He was a member of Ste. Genevieve Dubois Parish, active in The Knights of Columbus, where he rose to the rank of fourth degree. Pete was a barbecue Master - to the benefit of his friends and family. He was an animal lover. Partial to bulldogs. He was a friend to everyone and a great storyteller. He was devoted to his wife of 56 years. Trish. He lived and even died with a great outlook on life.
Pete is survived by his wife Trish, and two nieces and a nephew as well as three cousins.
Memorial service date is yet to be determined.
