Carol Faye (Schneider) Phye, 87, House Springs, MO, was called home to Heaven on Wednesday, February 18,2026. Carol was born July 18, 1938, to the late Fred A and Hulda (Koch) Schneider in Higgins, Tx, and grew up in Lipscomb, Tx. She attended Darrouzett High School in Darrouzett, Tx and graduated in 1955. She met David W. Phye in Topeka, Ks and was united in marriage to David on July 7, 1958. They moved to Missouri in 1958 and have resided at their home in House Springs since 1960. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Otto, Mo., for more than 50 years. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and board games and was fondly referred to as a “cheater”, by her grandchildren. She never threw a game to let a kid win. She expected you to become a better player. Somehow, the legacy of this moniker was passed to her daughter, though to set the record straight, both never cheated in any games.
Carol is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, David W. Phye; three children, Dan Wesley (Brenda) Phye, St. Clair, Mo., Daren (Nancy) Phye, Dittmer, Mo. and Karen Phye, Union, Mo.; five grandchildren: Bradley (Daviann) Union, Mo., Amanda (Bradley) Walters, Lonedell, Mo., Diona (Raymond) Huffman, High Ridge, Mo, Jameison Phye, Dittmer, Mo and Amalia Phye, Dittmer, Mo.; Seven great-grandchildren: Addyson Phye, Hayden Walters, Peyton Phye, Kingston Huffman, Hadley Walters, Emmyrson Phye and Emberly Huffman; two siblings: Ronald Schneider, Lipscomb, Tx and Marlene Oglesby, Ottowa, Ks; two sisters-in law: Charlene Schneider, Amarillo, Tx and June Alfano, Wichita, Ks.; other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Hulda and siblings Melba Schneider, Mervin Schneider and Glen Schneider. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or your favorite church or charity.
