Carrie June Bingham was born to the late Clint and Geneva Colburn on June 7, 1948, in Doniphan, MO. She graduated from Doniphan High School and decided to further her education at Three Rivers Community College, TRCC, where she pursued an Elementary Education Degree. After graduating from TRCC, she attended Oklahoma State and graduated there with her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. While she taught at few different places, Doniphan R1 became her home, where she taught first grade for 30 years. She filled her classroom with music, sunflowers and love.
Carrie’s house was always filled with laughter and love. She had 4 siblings, JR (Jeanne) Colburn and Dian Decker of Doniphan, MO. Sam (Pan) Colburn on Memphis, TN and CH (Janice) Colburn of Doniphan, who proceeded her in death.
Carrie married Johnny Louis Bingham, on June 10, 1966. Johnny proceeded her in death in Nov. 2018. Their first daughter, Johnna Carrie, proceed them in death. On September 25, 1976, they welcomed John Samuel. John had Maurryn (Joe) Bingham of Biloxi, MS, with his first wife, Crystal. On October 8, 1980, they welcomed their second daughter, Deidre Jane (Michael) Ruebel of Lake St. Louis, MO. She has 5 children, Michael Knapp, Jennifer Knapp, Brayden, Landen and Evalynn Ruebel, all residing in Lake St. Louis, MO.
Carrie was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she played the piano every time the doors were open. Carrie’s faith and love for others always shown bright, especially for children. For this reason, in lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to St. Jude’s.
The family will hold a private memorial service for Carrie at Wolf Creek Farm.
