Corliss Ann Brown was born on February 12, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Jewel and Richard Cartwright. She received her early education at Notre Dame de Lourdes Elementary School and graduated from Northwest High School in 1969. Corliss later earned a clerical skills certification from St. Louis Community College at Forest Park.
In 1971, Corliss married the late Paul Brown Jr. She was deeply devoted to her family and her community. For seven years, she lovingly served families through her in-home daycare for toddlers, a role she truly enjoyed. Corliss also worked for 25 years as a switchboard operator at Saint Louis University, serving the Jesuit Priests. In her neighborhood, she was affectionately known as the Avon Lady, delighting friends and neighbors with thoughtfully crafted gift baskets made from her Avon products.
Corliss had a joyful spirit and a love for laughter. She enjoyed collecting ceramic clowns and was known for her outspoken personality and warm presence. She is survived by her sister, Celia Talley (Calvin); her children, Paul, Tambra, and Tiffany Brown; her grandchildren, Emmai and Emirah Brown; and her great-grandchildren, G and Elliot Brown, all of St. Louis, Missouri.
Beautiful, Corliss Ann Brown, a 74-year old resident of University City, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2026.
