Earl Edward Yowell, of Dardenne Prairie, MO, formerly of Florissant, passed away on February 24, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 62. Born on January 20, 1963, in St. Louis, he spent his life in the area, building a career, a family, and a legacy of warmth and dedication.
Earl dedicated 31 years of service to General Motors, where he held various positions on the assembly line before retiring. His work ethic and commitment were evident throughout his career, and he took pride in his contributions to the industry.
Beyond his professional life, Earl had a deep passion for comic books, collectibles, games, and traveling. He found joy in exploring new places and immersing himself in the worlds of his favorite stories. His enthusiasm for these hobbies was infectious, bringing excitement to those who shared his interests.
Earl was a devoted husband to Barbara Ann Yowell of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri. Together they built a loving home filled with cherished memories. He was also a proud father to his two sons: Jeremy Yowell and his wife Katherine of St. Louis, Missouri; and Jason Yowell and his wife Erica of Winfield, Missouri. His love extended to his five grandchildren—Alyssa Yowell, Dominic Yowell, Sebastian Yowell, River Yowell, and Damien Yowell—who brought him immense joy. Earl is also survived by his brother William Yowell of Hazelwood, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Rosealee Yowell. Earl’s presence as a husband, father, uncle, cousin, and friend will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Earl’s memory will live on through the love he shared with his family and friends. May those who knew him find comfort in the moments they shared with him.
A celebration of life will be held for Earl E. Yowell in lieu of a funeral doing what he loved most, spending time with family and friends enjoying some cosplay, arcade games, family fun, and of course, pinball machines.
