Fridolin "Fred" Partsch Obituary

On February 11, 2026, Fridolin “Fred” A. Partsch passed away at the age of 89. Though his passing was sudden, we take comfort in imagining the joyful reunion in heaven, as he was the last of his siblings to leave this earth.

Born on December 23, 1936, into a large, faith-filled family, Fred grew up across the street from Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where he faithfully served Mass before discerning a call to the priesthood. He was ordained in 1962 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis and began his ministry at Immaculate Conception Parish in Union, Missouri.

In 1968, amid changes in the post–Vatican II Church, he left the priesthood but continued his lifelong vocation of service as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, dedicating himself to the poor, the elderly, and his family. He had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and loved—often with warmth and a well-timed sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fridolin and Marie (Puetter) Partsch, and his siblings: Rita Vogler, Jane Partsch, Vincent Partsch, Sr., Therese Weber, Mary Kelly, Dolores “Lori” Peltz, Joan Osmack, and William “Bill” Partsch, Sr.

He is lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, including several godchildren, who will cherish his deep love of family, his joyful presence at gatherings, his infectious laugh, and his many stories.

In accordance with Fred’s wishes, he will be cremated and no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help cover final expenses via
