Gary Wayne Hanks

Gary Wayne Hanks, 74, of St. Louis County, passed away surrounded by his family on April 3, 2026. He was born in St. Louis City on October 22, 1951, to the late Junie Hanks and Kordiene Broyles. Gary was the second eldest. He had an older brother, Junie and younger sisters, Shiela and Tina.

Gary served in the United States Army in the 1970s. He was known for his long marriage to Sally Diane Brosch, they were together for over 54 years. Together they raised three children: Theresa (Don), Melissa (Rob) and Matthew (Angie). Over the years, he moved through many interests, but always in the same way, with enthusiasm and focus (including photography, model trains, bowling, and golf.)

Gary is survived by his spouse; three children; and eight grandchildren (Nathan, Emma, Trinity, Samantha, Lethabo, Lebo, Rita and Eleanor.)  He will be remembered by those who loved him and his life remains part of the story for his children and grandchildren.
