Gary Sztukowski Obituary

Gary Francis Sztukowski of New Florence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of October 31, 2025, at the age of 68.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sztukowski; his three sons, Benjamin, Brian, and Russell; his four stepchildren, Marcia, Rhonda, Joni, and John; his grandchildren, Alex, Lucas, Thisbe, and Cato; his thirteen step-grandchildren; and fourteen step-great-grandchildren.

Born on December 22, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, Gary was the beloved son of Raymond and Louise Sztukowski. He spent his childhood in Florissant, Missouri, alongside his two older sisters, Nancy and Elizabeth.

Gary earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) and later completed a Master’s in Business Administration.

In 1979, Gary married Carol Eagleton, and together they made their home in the greater St. Louis area, where they raised their family. In 2006, he married Linda Vincent, with whom he shared many happy years.

Gary was known for his boundless energy, curiosity, and zest for life. He loved road trips, museums, and discovering new places. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed golf, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and boating—always happiest when he was active and outdoors. A talented performer, Gary also had a passion for musical theatre and held lead roles in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and South Pacific during his time at UMSL. A lifelong music lover, he appreciated everything from rock and roll to jazz and big band, and he never missed a chance to attend a live performance—whether by a headliner, a tribute band, or a local group.

Faith played a central role in Gary’s life. He was a devoted Christian and an active member of several church communities over the years, including the Presbyterian Church of Florissant Valley, College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton, Illinois, and most recently, Faith Christian Family Church, a non-denominational congregation in Warrenton, Missouri where he was an active member of SALT. Gary lived his faith through service—volunteering his time to help others and contributing generously to charitable causes. He was also an engaged member of the Lion’s Club.

Professionally, Gary excelled as a Project Manager, earning multiple certifications and awards over the course of a distinguished career. He worked in Asset Management at IBM (formerly McDonnell Douglas), leading projects across the U.S. and abroad, including in Western Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Gary will be remembered for his generous spirit, love of adventure, and deep devotion to family, faith, and community.
