Helen Burt Obituary

Helen Agnes Burt (née Duncan), age 79, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, in Farmington, Missouri. Born on June 24, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, Helen lived a vibrant and purpose-filled life rooted in faith, family, and service to others.

Throughout her life, Helen wore many hats with grace and determination. She worked as a bookkeeper and real estate agent for over 40 years, earning the respect of clients and colleagues alike through her dedication and professionalism. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led her to work as a wallpaper installer and an independent contractor for health supplements. In addition to her professional endeavors, she was a devoted Golden Retriever breeder, sharing her love of animals with many families over the years.

Helen’s passions extended far beyond her career. She found joy in tending to her garden and flowers, creating beautiful stained-glass pieces by hand, and playing cards with friends and family. Her home was often filled with laughter and warmth especially when surrounded by her beloved children and grandchildren.

She was deeply committed to her community and gave generously of her time and energy. Helen served as President of the PTA, Swim Team Administrator, Cub Scout leader, and mentor for the Youth for Christ program. Her leadership left a lasting impact on countless young lives.

A woman of strong faith, Helen was an active member of The Bridge Community Church where she found great joy in attending Bible Study and fellowshipping with others. Her kindness was evident to all who met her - she never knew a stranger - and she was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement.

Helen is lovingly remembered by her son John (Becky) Davis; daughter Susan (Keith) Perkins; grandchildren Colin, Claire, Zachary, Nathaniel, and Alexander; sister Ruth Merkle; brothers William (Charlotte) Duncan and Larry (Linda) Duncan. She was preceded in death by her husband William Burt; parents Ida and William Duncan; and brother John Duncan.

Helen’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, faithfulness, and unwavering love for those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 20, 2025, at The Bridge Community Church, 301 Lore Ln, Leadington, MO 63601.
