Ike Woods Jr. was born on January 22, 1944 in Shelby, MS to the union of Ike Woods, Sr. and Geneva Woods. Ike Woods graduated from Sumner High School in 1961. He confessed his faith to the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church. He traveled abroad while enlisted with the United States Navy. After completing his military service, he retired from American Can Company after 30 years.
He met Margaret Duncan Simmons of Glasgow, Scotland while overseas and married her on January 21, 1966. They eventually moved back to St. Louis, MO and joined the Lutheran church while raising their son Kelly I. Woods.
Ike Woods, Jr. made his transition on Friday, March 22, 2024 in St. Louis, MO. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his father Ike Woods, Sr. and mother Geneva Woods-Gaulding and his three sisters; Mary L. Frazier, Maline Cole and Verline Kindell. He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife of 58 years, Margaret Duncan Woods; his sons, Ike Keith and Kelly I. Woods; his grandchildren, Britnee' (Anthony) Ashford, Briana Woods, Brandis (Raheem) Parham, and Dominic Brown; his great grandchildren, Savannah Smith and Reagan Parham; his siblings, Henry L. (Wilmar) Woods Sr., Lilly Hutchinson, Geneva (Rev. Anthony) Steward, Rochelle (Tony) Condra, and Karl Cole; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
