James Richard Missey (Jim) was born to the late Thomas & Camille Missey April 24, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana. After five years in New Orleans, the family moved to Birmingham, Alabama and then to St. Louis in 1970. Jim graduated from Mehlville High school and immediately joined the US Army and eventually transitioned to the Army reserves. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan, retiring with the rank of E7, Master Sargent. He was highly respected by his commanding officers and piers with numerous commendations. Jim was married and divorced in Maryland never having children. He later came back and settled in St. Louis working various jobs.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman with a love of camping, hunting, floating and fishing. His favorite hobbies were firearm collecting, target practicing and reloading. He was an active member of the Arnold Shooting Range.
Jim is survived by his two brothers and their wives, Steve & Anne Marie Missey of St. Louis; Mike & Mimi Missey of Ocean Isle, N. Carolina; Brother-in-law Ben Bippen, married to deceased sister Susan (Missey) Bippen; Nieces Stephanie Missey Rozier (Husband Adam Rozier), Megan Missey, Jamie Bippen; Nephews Marc Missey, (Wife Bridget Missey); Martin Missey; and four great nieces and nephews; Stevie Rozier, George Rozier, Camila Missey & Emmett Missey as well as Life-long friends, Bill Doerr and Todd Maleki.
