Karl White Obituary

Karl Andersen White, 53, of St. Louis, MO, left this world on the afternoon of November 4, 2025. He was born in San Antonio, TX, on December 21, 1971, to Dian Andersen White Broman and the late Hobart Jones White. He graduated from Curtis High School in 1990 and went on to complete Cosmetology School. Continuing his education, he became a Certified Rolfer and practiced for several years. Later, he gained employment at Wells Fargo and moved up the ladder into their specialized investing department.

Karl was married in 2001 and later divorced, but the greatest blessing and love of his life was the birth of his daughter, Lucy Amanda White. She has always been his WHY! He has given everything for her and gotten the greatest joy from being her father. His other great love is Lemmy, his loyal and compassionate dog.

Karl was a very talented and creative artist. Stained glass was his medium of choice. When he was first introduced to it in a high school class, he made many stained glass windows. Particularly when he moved to St Louis from Austin, his inspiration led him to create 3-D sculptures. Karl created three lit sculptures, each a tree-triangular, spherical, and globular in shape. His other piece was the profile of a head and neck.

Karl’s creativity also spread into his wardrobe. He had a flair for the unique, and he wore it because he liked it and didn’t worry what the world thought of it. His style came before the fashion world caught on. In fact, when it became more fashionable, he moved on to the next unique thing. However, he always had a love of polyester shirts and sneakers of all kinds. With 100+ pairs of shoes, it takes a long time to wear them out! Due to his love of running, Karl did wear out many a pair as he trained and ran for 5k, 10k, Half Marathons, and a Marathon. While his body let him, he enjoyed races of all kinds, and true to his nature, Karl loved the unique, local runs that united the communities.

When Karl was in his youth, he was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two-year mission to Tallahassee, Florida.

Karl was very diverse in his likes and activities. He enjoyed music, literature, and movies from all genres. Nature called to him often. As long as the parks accepted dogs, he and Lemmy would head for the parks to hike, camp, explore, and enjoy God’s creations. Traveling was also important to him. In his early childhood, Europe was the place of family exploration. In his early 20s, he spent time in New Zealand and the Cook Islands. Later in life, the USA, with all its diversity, was his focus. National Parks and unique and interesting places were where Lucy, Karl, and Lemmy spent many vacations. His other interests were museums of all varieties. Living in downtown St. Louis, Karl was a short walk from work, museums, the library,, and a diversity of eating establishments. He loved the convenience of it all and his ability to explore and be filled with the knowledge and wonder of creation.

Karl loved being in the kitchen. He enjoyed cooking for others and sharing the unity that comes with sitting around a table with food. It didn’t have to be eating his homemade spaghetti sauce, gumbo, or pumpkin pie, each made from scratch and love. He created many meals, and he also enjoyed eating out with his friends. Food with purpose brings warmth, connection, and fulfilment.

Karl struggled so much in life with darkness and depression. It wasn’t until he turned 50 that he was finally diagnosed with BiPolar and ADHD, along with dyslexia!! He made every effort to understand it, to find a way out of it or at least around it, but in the end, his pain and suffering did not allow him to see the many, many family and friends who loved and supported him. Our hearts ache for the loss of a father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, neighbor, and kind-hearted man! For those who knew Karl, our grief is lessened with the gratitude that the pain and anguish that plagued him in this life are no longer with him.

Karl is survived by his daughter, Lucy Amanda White, of Austin, TX; his mother, Dian Broman, of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Ingrid White Frey (David), of Friendswood, TX and Teresa White Cobb (Scott), of Las Vegas, NV; his sister-in-law, Adriana White (the late Eric), of Orem, UT; and thirteen nieces and nephews along with their spouses and children.
