Linda Lee Hennigh

Linda Lee Hennigh, 80, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 20, 2025. Born on April 24, 1945, in Oceanside, California, she is the beloved daughter of Harry August Steinfeldt and Lee Adele Jeffries Steinfeldt. She is preceded in death by her two younger sisters, Julie Kay Turpin and Jane Gay Dickerson.

Linda was married to Ronald Eugene Hennigh from 1964 to 1976 and spent many years in Fisher, Illinois area before relocating to St. Louis in 1984. She is survived by her two loving children, Jeffrey Galen Hennigh and Suzanne Marie Hennigh, both of whom reside in the St. Louis area.  Linda worked two jobs and attended night school to better provide for her family.

A lifelong learner, Linda graduated from Paxton High School in 1963, earned her Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming from Parkland College.  She also received her Bachelor of Science at Maryville University in 1995. Her professional journey included work with the Special School District and a distinguished 25-year career at Safety National Casualty Corporation, where she rose from Programmer/Analyst to Assistant Vice President of Business Applications & Development.

Linda was also a passionate entrepreneur and community leader. She was a Girl Scout Leader in Fisher IL and she served as President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Community Garden Co-Chair, Block Link Coordinator and Neighbor of the Year of the Benton Park West Neighborhood Association in the St. Louis area.  Her dedication to community, connection, and revitalization was evident in every project she touched.  In her free time, you could find her volunteering at the Clowder House, the community garden, participating in the local trunk or treat Halloween event for neighborhood children or working tirelessly organizing and serving up drinks during many of the neighborhood fundraising events.

Beyond her professional and civic contributions, Linda is a woman of deep spirit and joy. She sang in the choir at Peace Lutheran Church and cherished a memorable trip to Germany with fellow members. She traveled to Paris, loved her children, sunflowers, cats, fresh bread, and the simple beauty of connecting with others. She was a rehabber, a rental property owner, a volunteer, and a friend to many. Her guardian angel, she often said, was Clarence from It’s A Wonderful Life—a reflection of her belief in kindness, second chances, and the ripple effect of a good heart.

There will be two Memorial Services

August 21 from 5:00-7:00pm at the 5-Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal St, Saint Louis, MO 63118

August 28 from 5:30-7:30pm at the River Valley Church of Christ, 17 Owlcreek Lane, Fisher, IL 61843
