Robert "Rob" Charles Gilbert

Rob Gilbert, 68, passed on to glory Thursday, February 12th, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. Beloved husband of Karen (née Ebeling); loving father of Katie (Dan) Davison, Jennifer (Chris) Devine, and Kevin (Paige) Gilbert; cherished grandfather of Dominic, James, Harper, Ethan, Eric, Elaina, and Emily; dear brother of John, Jane, Tom, Mary, and the late Joe Gilbert; brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and faithful friend.  

Rob loved actively. He shared his heart, home, and energy, soaking up both the quiet moments and the busy ones. He tackled each day with a childlike spirit and curiosity that allowed him to fully experience the wonders of life. His humility enabled him to be forever learning, and his capacity for love inspired and encouraged. We are deeply grateful for the impact his example of love and generosity has had on our lives as he walked humbly with God.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Food Pantry (helpstlouis.org), where Rob served weekly.
