Steven James Ley, 56, of Warrenton, Missouri, passed away, leaving behind a legacy defined by strength, integrity, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Steven was born on December 1, 1969, in Washington, Missouri, to James Edward Ley and Mary Geraldine Ley.
He graduated from St. Francis Borgia High School in 1988, where he formed lifelong friendships as part of the “State Street Crew.”
On June 4, 1991, Steven proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving four years as a Military Police officer. The discipline, honor, and commitment he carried as a Marine remained with him throughout his life.
He later built a respected career as a Communications Journeyman and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
While Steven worked hard and served faithfully, his greatest calling was the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loyal son, and the kind of friend everyone hopes to have. He was the man people called when they needed help because they knew he would come. He led with quiet strength, spoke with sincerity, and gave without ever expecting anything in return.
Steven never met a stranger. He had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Whetherthrough a conversation, a helping hand, or simply his presence, he left people better than he found them. His generosity was never for recognition, it was simply who he was.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristen Mishawn Ley; his children, Emma Catherine Ley, Grace Elizabeth Ley, Olivia Rose Ley, Jacob Taylor Allmeyer, and Jeffrey Franklin Allmeyer; his mother, Mary Geraldine Ley; his sister, Diana Marie Ley Smith; and his niece, Jacqueline Hope Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Ley.
A man’s life is measured not by what he leaves behind, but by the lives he changes. Steven’s legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friends he stood beside, and the countless people who were stronger because he was part of their lives.
He was a man of strength, steadfast character, and boundless compassion. He gave more than he took, loved more than he spoke, and left this world far better than he found it.
Semper Fidelis. Forever faithful. Forever loved. Forever missed.
