Thearthic "Bootsey" Adolph Obituary

Thearthic “Bootsey” Adolph was born on October 11, 1960, at Homer G. Phillips Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Thesther Pace and Roosevelt Adolph Sr. She transitioned from this life on March 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable spirit.

Bootsey was preceded in death by her youngest son, Roonell Martez Adolph; her parents, Thesther Pace and Roosevelt Adolph Sr.; her maternal grandparents, Lenora and Carlus Hall of Starksville, Mississippi; her brothers, Roosevelt “Big Adolph” Adolph Jr. and Gary Adolph; and her beloved aunt, Juanita Tucker.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jessie Lamarr Adolph, and daughter-in-love, Karen Traylor-Adolph, of Decatur, Georgia. She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren: Jessie Lamarr Adolph Jr., Alyssa Jessica Adolph, Evan Michael Adolph, and Alexander Jordan Adolph, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry her spirit forward.

As a young mother, Bootsey demonstrated strength and determination, earning her GED while working tirelessly in roles such as a maintenance supervisor, nanny, and domestic worker. Her life was a testament to perseverance poured into family.

Like her spirit animal, the dolphin, Bootsey carried a vibrant and playful energy that filled every room she entered. She had a deep love for down-home blues, Tyler Perry films and live plays, the music of Gerald Levert whom she called “Her Baby,” and she never turned down a slice of German chocolate cake.

Her grandchildren will forever remember their Granny for her humor, her homemade ice cream, barbecue, her playful “money game” tossing quarters in the air, and her unforgettable personality—from fussing at Roonell about his tattoos to her spirited road rage commentary and cherished “kids’ nights.” These moments now live on as stories, laughter, and legacy.

The Adolph family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Hall, McGhee, and O’Bryant families for their prayers and unwavering support. A special acknowledgment is given to Cousin Patricia Hall, who stood as Bootsey’s confidant, spiritual warrior, and encourager during her final days at Stonebridge Nursing Home and Missouri Baptist Hospital.

Bootsey’s life was not just lived—it was felt. And though she has transitioned, her rhythm, her laughter, and her love remain.
